Dai Nam Environmental Solutions Completes Wastewater Treatment System for Celesta Rise with a Capacity of 950 m³/day. The system is currently undergoing final inspection and preparation for use. Designed to meet strict environmental standards, it ensures efficient treatment of domestic wastewater in the urban area. Discover the key features of this system in the article below.

1. Project Information

  • Project Name: Celesta Rise Domestic Wastewater Treatment System
  • Investor: KEPPEL LAND
  • Implemented by: Dai Nam Environmental Solutions Co., Ltd.
  • Location: Lot 13, Nguyen Huu Tho Street, Phuoc Kien, Nha Be District, HCMC
  • Capacity: 950 m³/day
  • Treated Effluent Quality: Complies with National Technical Regulation on Domestic Wastewater - QCVN 14:2008/BTNMT, Column B.

2. Process Flow Diagram

The wastewater treatment system is designed with a series of main treatment tanks, ensuring efficiency and environmental safety, including:

  • Septic Tank: Blackwater from Towers 2, 3, 4, and the shophouse area flows to the septic tank. Greywater from these areas is directed to the third compartment of the septic tank. The septic tank undergoes anaerobic decomposition, where microorganisms ferment and break down organic materials in the wastewater.
  • Grease Separator Tank: Wastewater passes through a trash rake to remove large solid particles, preventing pump blockages and pipe obstructions for subsequent systems.
  • Equalization Tank: Designed with sufficient retention time to stabilize flow and concentration of pollutants in the wastewater. The system is equipped with submersible mixers to evenly mix the wastewater, preventing anaerobic biological decomposition.
  • Anoxic Tank: The denitrification process occurs here, where nitrate and nitrite are converted, releasing nitrogen gas into the environment. High-nitrate and nitrite wastewater is supplemented through the recirculation flow from the biological tank, with activated sludge also recirculated from the biological settling tank to ensure proper sludge concentration during wastewater treatment.
  • Aerobic Biological Treatment Tank: The wastewater is treated by autotrophic microorganisms with biomass that grows on carriers, which freely move inside the reactor and are retained within it. This provides an optimal environment for microorganisms as the carriers float within the water.
  • Biological Settling Tank: Designed to separate the flocs of microorganisms from the treated water through gravity settling. The tank is divided into three sections: the clarified water section, the settled solids section, and the sludge collection section.
  • Disinfection Tank: Contains treated water and disinfects it to kill pathogenic microorganisms. Chlorine compounds are used for disinfection. The treated wastewater meets Column B standards of QCVN 14:2008/BTNMT (National Technical Regulation on Domestic Wastewater) before being discharged into the receiving water source.
  • Sludge Storage Tank: This tank facilitates the decomposition of sludge to increase the solid content and reduce the organic matter, stabilizing the sludge and reducing its volume before disposal.

3. Advantages of the Đại Nam Domestic Wastewater Treatment System

The Đại Nam domestic wastewater treatment system stands out with many outstanding advantages, ensuring high treatment efficiency and cost savings. By applying advanced technology and intelligent design, this system not only improves the quality of the treated water but also optimizes the operational process. Here are the main advantages:

3.1 Technological Advantages

  • The treatment technology is suitable, widely used, and easy to operate, with stable water quality after treatment.
  • The combination of anaerobic/aerobic treatment reduces the amount of organic matter, particularly nitrogen, in the wastewater and eliminates phosphorus as sludge.
  • The MBBR system's treatment capacity and efficiency are superior to traditional activated sludge tanks.
  • The treatment system can easily be expanded by 10-30% in capacity by adding more carriers to the tanks.
  • The system reduces odors, minimizes sludge loss, and eliminates microorganisms within the biological treatment system.
  • The investment and operating costs are low (which is a key design criterion for Đại Nam's wastewater treatment plants).

3.2 Design Advantages

  • The tank layout is rationally arranged with the overall site plan, making it easy to increase capacity in the future. The main treatment tanks are optimally arranged to save on construction and connection costs.
  • The proposed equipment is of high quality and durability. The use of large quantities of microbial carriers with a large surface area enhances treatment efficiency and eliminates the possibility of clogging during operation.
  • The system maximizes gravity flow between tanks due to differences in hydrostatic pressure, thus saving pump costs and electricity consumption.
